Only one day in my life compares with this one -- the day I sat on the grass in front of the Lincoln Memorial, part of a crowd of thousands, sensing that we were all friends, listening to Martin Luther King, Jr. speak -- "I have a dream . . ."

Writer, broadcaster, Cubs fan, historian and story-teller supreme.
He passed last week. Missing his chance to tell the greatest story in Chicago history
