Hi Peggy, I've been following your blog for a while now at the recommendation of Wess Daniels, but I don't think I've commented before.

This is a GORGEOUS quilt. I hope your quilters are happy with their project, because they have done an exquisite job.

I'm no expert, but I have been actively quilting for 12 years now and I'm a little concerned with how low it's been valued at. You might want to have it looked at again by another evaluator because that seems more than conservative. I would expect a conservative number to be closer to $1,200 to $1,500 based on the size of the quilt, the number of pieces and the quality of the quilting (stitches per inch and intricacy of pattern). I'm suggesting this in order to drive the price up, but in order that it be properly valued for insurance purposes, etc. It truly is a work of household/living art

Hi Sonja,

This Quilt was not made by our ladies, but by the ladies of another church here in the valley.

By all mean, drive the price up!

By your estimation someone could buy this at 800, and sell it in another market and make a profit!

Seriously though, this is the price it should sell for here in the Willamette Valley. It is such a fine quilt that I have no doubt that with care it will appreciate in value over the years.
