7:45-9:30 Session I : On Being Dangerous: First generation Quakers were an a real and persistent threat to the economic, spiritual and political status quo of their day. At other times during our history Friends have occasionally risen near to this level. How do we re-kindle this dangerous spark for the 21st century?

Introductions: What is your concept of “being dangerous”?

9:00-9:30 Meeting for Worship in the Barn

10:00-12:00 noon Session II: Living into God’s Wisdom: The Sermon on the Mount was the most dangerous document ever written. Escaping the entrapping gravity of conventional wisdom, how we learn to live into the values of this teaching.

Stumbling over “perfection”: What does this early Quaker doctrine mean? How does it get distorted? How might it point to strength and empowerment?

12:20-1:00 p.m. Lunch

1:00 Free time (Bookstore open 1:00 – 3:30)*

3:30-5:30 Session III: A Fearless Faith: An honest disclaimer about the advantages and risks of a life lived in the Spirit. People are dying for want of what we take for granted. How to get it to them without losing ourselves. With a fearless faith, we are neither paralyzed nor in denial. Responding to the Guide allows room for choice in the midst of chaos or danger.

6:00-6:40 Dinner

7:30-9:30 Session IV:. Paradoxes and Polarities: What are our blind spots – the polarities which drive humanity apart and drive us from God? The cure for polarities is the ability to live with paradox.

9:00-9:30 Meeting for Worship in the Barn

10:00 a.m. -12:30 p.m. Session V: Transforming Love. Only changed people can change the world. The love of God is a supremely powerful agent of change. Radical acceptance of ourselves, of God, and for God’s love for all people including us is the gate to the transformed life. What transformation do we know within ourselves? How do we support one another and nurture the growth of the Spirit in each other’s lives?

1:00-1:40 Dinner

Peggy, you might mention to PH that the workshop isn't listed on their website. Mayhap that helps explain the low registration numbers...

Can't get to Philly but I will ponder being more dangerous. I think this post did me good!
